Spirit Airlines commemorated today the grand opening of Spirit Central, its freshly minted corporate campus nestled within Dania Pointe, Dania Beach, Florida. Stretching across over 11 acres, the campus boasts four edifices: a central support hub housing offices, an amenity-rich building, a state-of-the-art crew training facility tailored for hands-on flight simulator experiences, and a corporate lodging establishment. Furthermore, the campus encompasses designated parking structures tailored for the convenience of Spirit Team Members. This new establishment, Spirit Central, serves as a spacious and centralized hub for the airline’s primary support units, strategically located mere minutes from Spirit’s largest operational hub at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).

“The opening of Spirit Central marks a major milestone as we celebrate a new chapter in our more than 30-year history and reflect on how far we’ve come in our mission to deliver high-value travel options across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean,” said Ted Christie, Spirit’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Spirit is proud to make this major investment in Broward County, drive local economic development, and further strengthen our commitment to the South Florida community.”

The newly designed campus interior pays homage to Spirit Airlines through various design elements, including an impressive 18-foot-long model of an Airbus A321neo, a striking 3D engine cowling, a gallery showcasing the iconic “Howdy” sharklet, a historical wall, and more. The primary buildings within the campus are:

Support Center: This expansive structure, spanning approximately 180,000 square feet, encompasses six floors of office space, accommodating over 1,000 corporate Team Members. Departments housed here include Operations Control Center, IT, Flight Operations, Inflight, and others.

Fueling Station: Adjacent to the Support Center, this amenity building offers convenient access and hosts a café, fitness center, and exclusive lounge areas for Team Members.

Training Hub: A cutting-edge facility catering to Inflight and Flight Operations Teams, equipped with advanced flight simulator bays, fixed flight simulators, a state-of-the-art Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer (CEET), door trainers, classrooms, and debriefing rooms.

The Landing: Serving as corporate lodging, this facility provides accommodations for up to 400 visiting Team Members. It features meeting rooms, a grab-and-go market, a pool, fitness center, and a dedicated parking garage.

To mark the official opening of Spirit Central, the Spirit Charitable Foundation contributed $25,000 to Dania Beach PATCH (Peoples Access to Community Horticulture), supporting its mission to provide local access to healthy foods and horticulture. This donation aligns with the Foundation’s commitment to environmental stewardship, education, cultural enrichment, and economic development.

Spirit Airlines collaborated with HuntonBrady, a Florida-based architectural firm, along with general contractor Brasfield & Gorrie, and project advisor Jones Lang LaSalle to bring Spirit Central to life. Additionally, the airline worked closely with Kimco Realty, the owner and principal developer of Dania Pointe, to secure the campus location.

The relocation process from Spirit’s previous facilities in Miramar, Florida, to Spirit Central in Dania Beach is anticipated to conclude in the coming weeks.
