    What's the story

The first phase of the Lok Sabha elections will take place from Friday, April 19. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), Phase 1 will cover 102 constituencies across 21 states and Union Territories. The Lok Sabha elections 2024 phase 1 voting will begin at 7:00am and end at 5:00pm. Here's how to find out the polling station in your assembly segment you'll be voting at.

    Voter identification

Understanding your Voter ID and EPIC number

Every Indian voter is provided with a voter ID card, also known as the Election Photo ID Card (EPIC). This card carries a unique 10-digit alpha-numeric EPIC code, assigned by the poll body. The EPIC code serves as proof of voter registration and can be found on the front of your voter ID card. To find your EPIC number online, visit the official NVSP portal at https://voters.eci.gov.in/.

    Epic retrieval

How to retrieve your Epic number online

Then, under 'Services', select 'Search in Electoral Roll'. You can then choose to 'search by details' or 'mobile.' If you opt for 'Search by Details,' fill in the necessary information and captcha code, then click 'Search' to reveal your EPIC code. Alternatively, if you choose 'Search by Mobile', enter your registered mobile number and captcha code, then click 'Send OTP.' An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number for verification.

    Polling booth

Locating your polling booth for the 2024 elections

Once you have your EPIC number, you can find out where your polling booth is located. To do this, visit electoralsearch.eci.gov.in, enter your EPIC code, state, and captcha code before clicking 'Search.' The details of your designated polling booth will then appear on the screen. This guide aims to simplify the process of finding your polling booth for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
