Taxpayers will decide whether they support a 2.2% tax increase in the next fiscal year at a town meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the Lena Morton Art Gallery at Town Hall.
The proposed budget of $30,394,185 would require a tax rate of 34.36 mills, up 0.73 mills, from 33.63 mills.
One mill equals $1 for every $1,000 of assessed property value. A homeowner with $250,000 worth of property would pay $182 more in taxes, from $8,408 to $8,590.
