Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:24AM

Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 4.82%), Pokarna Ltd.(up 0.46%) and NMDC Ltd.(up 0.30%) were among the top gainers.

Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 5.24%), KIOCL Ltd.(down 4.53%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(down 3.51%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(down 3.32%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(down 2.32%), MOIL Ltd.(down 1.86%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 1.58%), Coal India Ltd.(down 1.40%), 20 Microns Ltd.(down 1.27%) and Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 0.58%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 148.66 points down at 22370.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 517.65 points at 73727.25 at around 10:24AM.

Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 4.37%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 2.74%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 0.85%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.74%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 0.47%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 0.34%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 0.15%) and Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 0.04%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Motors Ltd.(down 2.22%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.92%), State Bank of India(down 1.58%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 1.58%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.58%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 1.53%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 1.45%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.44%), UPL Ltd.(down 1.35%) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.34%) were trading in the red.
