Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:44AM

Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd.(up 0.80%) were among the top gainers.

Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(down 3.92%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(down 3.54%), Sakthi Sugars Ltd.(down 3.52%), Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd.(down 3.48%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd.(down 3.22%), KM Sugar Mills Ltd.(down 3.21%), Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd.(down 3.08%), Magadh Sugar & Energy Ltd.(down 2.93%), Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd.(down 2.80%) and Vishwaraj Sugar Industries Ltd.(down 2.72%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 140.75 points down at 22378.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 485.45 points at 73759.45 at around 10:44AM.

Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 3.67%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 3.56%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 1.68%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 0.81%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.49%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 0.4%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 0.32%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 0.19%) and Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 0.03%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 2.14%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.95%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 1.67%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.67%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 1.65%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.57%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 1.4%), UPL Ltd.(down 1.34%), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.22%) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.22%) were trading in the red.
