Israel's Netanyahu vows victory after Iran strikes, fears of wider conflict grow
TÁNAISTE Micheál Martin has said Ireland is carefully monitoring the security situation in southern Lebanon in light of the alarming escalation in clashes between Israel and Iran and the potential threat now posed to Defence Forces personnel with the UNIFIL mission.
Mr Martin appealed to both Israel and Iran to de-escalate the situation and draw back from the brink of open conflict amid mounting fears that a regional war could quickly spiral out of control.
