Body found on Sunday in Goldsboro, police say; third body found in as many days

Three bodies found over three days in Goldsboro

On Sunday, authorities in Goldsboro discovered a body for the third time in just as many days.

According to the Goldsboro Police Department, officers found a body in a wooded area near the 2200 block of Royal Avenue.

Authorities identified the body as 34-year-old Kirsten Shawnell Alves of Goldsboro, adding they found her body inside a tent at the location.

Alves was one of three bodies discovered between Friday, April 12, and Sunday, April 14.

Authorities initially discovered the first two bodies on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, officers found a man’s body in a wooded area near the intersection of I-795 North and West Ash Street.

On Saturday, officers with the Goldsboro police and the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections Probation/Parole found the body of 40-year-old Billy Wayne Saunders at a hotel on the 1100 block of Sunburst Drive.

Authorities don’t suspect foul play is involved.
