    What's the story

Google is currently working on a centralized location-sharing feature for Android users, according to reports by PiunikaWeb. This new feature, known as "Google Location Sharing," was recently discovered in updates to Google Play Services. The primary objective of this development is to consolidate all active location-sharing services associated with a user's Google account, into one accessible page within the Settings menu.

    Simplification

New feature aims to simplify user experience

At present, Android users can share their location through various means, including Google Maps. Currently, you must manage each service separately, which can be complex. The upcoming Google Location Sharing feature aims to streamline this process by providing a single platform for all location-sharing services. This development is expected to enhance user experience by making location sharing more straightforward and convenient.

    Replacement

It will replace the existing location sharing page

The yet-to-be-launched Google Location Sharing feature will replace an existing page that currently compiles active location sharing services via the web. The new hub is expected to gather data from six apps, including Google Maps, Google Find My Device, Personal Safety, and three versions of "com.google.android.apps.gmm," associated with Maps. It's also anticipated that Family Link will be integrated into this hub.
