Jammu : Pre-registration for the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra is expected to begin from April 15 at around 540 different bank branches across the country.
Amarnath Yatra begins on June 29 this year and ends on August 19 on Raksha Bandhan.

According to official sources, around 540 branches of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Punjab National Bank (PNB), State Bank of India (SBI) and Yes Bank will be on pilgrimage for this year’s Amarnath Yatra from April 15.
For Jammu and Kashmir, he said the registration process will begin at 21 branches of PNB, SBI and JandK banks, adding, “Pilgrims will have to provide health certificates while registering as children below 13 years of age and citizens above 70 years of age “This is mandatory.” Women who are six weeks pregnant cannot take part in the pilgrimage. ”
In case of Ladakh, the registration facility for pilgrims will be available only at JandK Bank branch in Leh, they said.
According to sources, more than 230 doctors at various medical centers in all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir are authorized to issue Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) for Yatri pre-registration.
Of these, 76 doctors will be posted in Kashmir and 162 in Jammu and certificates will also be issued in district hospitals, local health centers including health centers, NTPHC and UPHC, they said.
He explained that a Hajj permit would be issued for each pilgrim paying Rs 150, adding: Facilities would be provided for group registration of five or more pilgrims, the application of which is expected to be submitted on May 31.
He said: Group registration will be done on priority basis and the cost of issuing a pilgrim registration certificate is fixed at Rs 250. Also, producing Aadhaar card, health certificate, etc. is mandatory. he added. Please fill out the group registration request form.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who is also chairman of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Committee, also chaired a meeting at the Raj Bhavan here last month to discuss arrangements and preparations for the yatra.
This 52-day pilgrimage ends on August 19 with the Raksha Bhanhan festival.
The official added, “After the Lok Sabha polls, the government will be busy preparing the Amarnath temple.”
