Laois Gardaí stop car with an unrestrained child holding a baby in the front seat

Gardaí in Laois stopped a car after spotting a child in the front seat was not wearing a seatbelt - and then discovered the child was holding a baby.
In addition, they found another child in the back seat of the vehicle also travelling without wearing a seatbelt.

Upon further inspection, Gardaí discovered that the tax on the vehicle had also expired by 497 days.
Subsequently, the vehicle was seized by Gardaí.
In a statement, An Garda Síochána said: “Portlaoise Gardaí were out on patrol when they stopped this vehicle after observing a child in the front seat not wearing a safety belt.
"Incredibly when stopped this unbelted child was found to be holding a baby and there was another child also unrestrained in the rear seat.
"The tax was expired 497 day which led to the vehicle being sized. The driver was issued with fixed charge notices,” concluded the statement.
