Monte Carlo: Ruud upsets Djokovic in semifinal, will face Tsitsipas for ttle

Casper Ruud defeated Novak Djokovic for the first time in his career on Saturday, reaching the final of the Monte Carlo Masters 6-4, 1-6, 6-4.

The Norwegian won a rematch of the 2023 French Open final after losing to the world number-one Serb in five previous matches. Djokovic was bidding for a 59th final at the Masters level.

Ruud, who advanced when Djokovic double-faulted, will on Sunday face Stefanos Tsitsipas, who defeated Jannik Sinner in three sets in the first semi-final.
