Beeper's announcement of its revamp plans also follows a significant increase in its user base. The company recently opened up for public access, resulting in the addition of 70,000 new users. The upcoming desktop and iOS applications are expected to be "similar in scope to the Beeper Android rewrite," adopting the same design aesthetics and feature set, according to a confirmation given to 9to5Google by Beeper.

Future plans include performance enhancements

In addition to the planned revamp for desktop and iOS apps, Beeper also intends to rectify bugs and enhance the performance of its Android app. The company has plans to introduce features like support for archiving. Furthermore, Beeper is set to incorporate the Texts.com team into its workforce. All of this follows the company's recent acquisition by Automattic, the company which also acquired Texts last year.

Beeper recently eliminated the waitlist

In other Beeper-related news, the company recently eliminated its waitlist and no longer necessitates an invitation for new users. Those interested can now easily download the app on Android, iOS, or desktop platforms and start using it for free. Before this change, Beeper had approximately 450,000 users awaiting service access. While there is no specific timeline for the desktop and iOS app revamp, Beeper anticipates that it won't be long before they are implemented.
