    What's the story

Newcastle United rose above both West Ham United and Manchester United to go sixth in the 2023-24 season of the Premier League. Eddie Howe's side tamed a sorry Tottenham Hotspur side 4-0 at home. Alexander Isak scored a brace with Anthony Gordon and Fabian Schar finding joy as well. Newcastle enjoyed an all-round show and were superb with and without the ball.

A look at the points table

Spurs have dropped to fifth and have an inferior goal difference compared to Aston Villa. Both sides have 60 points each after 32 matches. Spurs have conceded 49 goals this season. Newcastle have raced to 50 points after 32 matches (W15 D5 L12). Manchester United can reclaim sixth place when they face Bournemouth next.
