Once clouds broke today, it ended up pretty nice despite the gusty wind and occasional pollen tornadoes. Our average high is up to 67 degrees, and that’s right around where we ended up this afternoon. Wind from the west and southwest has been quite impressive — gusts of 30 to 40 mph have been common since midday, with some spots gusting toward 45 mph.

Through tonight: Variably cloudy skies should persist through the night. We will also run the risk of a couple of showers, although it should be dry most of the time. Lows will range from the mid-40s to around 50. While winds will likely diminish somewhat, it should stay noticeably gusty through the night.

Tomorrow (Saturday): Some clouds may linger into morning, but we should see a lot of sun. It should be on the cool side of normal with mid-60s for highs. Like today, winds could be strong much of the time. The storm that passed last night is slow to move away, and high pressure is building in from the south, which has us squeezed in the middle. That leads to sustained winds around 25 mph and gusts near or past 40 mph, out of the west.

Sunday: More clouds than on Saturday seems a fair bet from here. We should also gain about 10 degrees or so. Highs are forecast for the mid- and upper 70s. It will likely still be a bit breezy, but probably less than it has been.

Pollen update: The most recent count was incomplete because of rain. Tree pollen levels remain near highs of this year.
