Cancelling beach plans because of your period? Never again with period swimwear. Not everyone feels comfortable wearing a tampon or menstrual cup to swim, and if you have a heavy flow, you could still need some backup protection. Now, thanks to period swimsuits, you don't have to think twice about taking a dip. These innovative new swim styles are similar to period underwear, but they are specially designed to absorb menstrual flow and prevent leaks while you're in the water so you can feel comfortable and confident during your cycle.
In the Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab, we test both menstrual products and the best swimsuits. In recent years, our analysts have tested over 50 menstrual products and have had over 200 testers try period products for real-user feedback. Our GH analysts have worn period swimwear themselves and have shared their thoughts on properties like style, construction, comfort and function. Using our expertise in menstrual products and swimwear, our Textiles Lab pros chose these period swimwear picks from top-performing brands with rave reviews from our testers or online reviewers and picks that they've tried themselves and love to wear.
