Industries Minister and Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho said he has a strong feeling that the BJP’s South Goa candidate Pallavi Dempo will make it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet.

“Modi wants to uplift women. He is so benevolent towards them that he chose a woman candidate for South Goa. We have an educated and intelligent woman like Dempo who is on the way to victory,” said Godinho during the BJP’s campaign in Dabolim constituency on Thursday. Referring to the profile of the BJP candidate, Godinho said Dempo stands a good chance of being inducted into the
union cabinet.

Hitting out at the Congress candidate, Godinho said the defeat of Viriato Fernandes is a foregone conclusion and added that the BJP will wrest the seat with a big margin.

On the Dabolim airport issue, he said that it is one of the more prestigious airports run by the Airports Authority of India, and “the way the central government is spending on its expansion, it is here to stay”.

Dempo visited many places, including temples, residential colonies, celebrated Eid with the Muslim community, etc, during her campaign in Dabolim.

“I have received an overwhelming response during my campaign. I am very happy to receive people’s support. I wish to open an office in South Goa to be connected to people and be able to help my people,”
she said.
