During the 88th US Masters in Augusta this past weekend, Tourism Ireland unveiled its latest golf campaign targeted at the United States. This initiative features two 30-second TV commercials set to reach a broad audience across the US via the NBC Golf Channel.
Scheduled to air throughout the year, particularly during other Major championships and priority tournaments like the US Open, The Open, the Irish Open, and the Presidents Cup, these ads are expected to generate a total of 13.1 million impressions among US households.
In conjunction with the Masters, Tourism Ireland is hosting its ‘Meet the Irish’ media event. This event, coinciding with the commencement of the 2024 Major season at the esteemed Augusta National, offers a prime opportunity to showcase Ireland’s elite golf offerings to top American golf journalists and Tour representatives in attendance.
Highlighted during the event will be key upcoming golfing attractions, including the Women’s Irish Open at Carton House in late August, the Irish Open at Royal County Down Golf Club in September, the return of The Open to Royal Portrush in 2025, and the hosting of the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in 2027.
Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, said:“The US Masters provides an excellent opportunity for Tourism Ireland to highlight our world-class golf. Given that golf is the world’s largest sports-related travel market, our aim is to inspire American golfers to choose the island of Ireland for their next golfing vacation. Tourism Ireland is working hard to drive home the message that a golfing vacation in Ireland is about much more than a round of 18 holes – the combination of our world-class golf and our unique brand of hospitality plays a key role in attracting US golfers.”
