    Sensex slips to 74,244 points, Nifty settles below 22,520 mark

    On Friday, the benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices witnessed a fall. The Sensex plunged 1.06% to finish at 74,244.90 points, while the Nifty fell 1.03% to end at 22,519.4 points. The midcap stocks edged lower with the Nifty Midcap 50 dropping 48.85 points, or 0.35%, to finish at 14,049.1 points. Here are more details on the markets' performance on Friday.

    Who were the biggest gainers and losers?

    The top-gaining stocks were Divis Labs, Bajaj Auto, and Tata Motors, adding 0.85%, 0.76%, and 0.64%, respectively. Among the top losing sectors were NIFTY PHARMA, NIFTY PSU BANK, and NIFTY MEDIA, which slipped 1.75%, 1.27% and 1.22%, respectively. As far as top stock losers are concerned, Sun Pharma, Maruti Suzuki, and Power Grid Corporation lead the pack, plummeting 3.68%, 3.26%, and 2.51%, respectively.

    As far as Asian markets are concerned, the Shanghai Composite Index plunged 0.49% to 3,019.47 points, while Hang Seng declined 2.23% to 16,721.69. The Nikkei witnessed a rise of 0.2%, closing at 39,523.55. In the US, NASDAQ traded in green, advancing 1.63% to 16,447.87 points.

    INR goes down 0.26% against the US Dollar

    The Indian Rupee (INR) depreciated by 0.26% to end at Rs. 83.45 against the US Dollar in the forex trade on Friday. Prices of both gold and silver futures witnessed a surge. While the former soared 1.52% to Rs. 72,733, the latter jumped 1.95% to Rs. 84,460. The crude oil futures edged up by $0.84, or 0.98% to $86.06 per barrel.

    Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai

    Fuel prices in Delhi remained unchanged on Friday, with diesel priced at Rs. 87.66 per liter, and petrol at Rs. 94.76 per liter. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, diesel costs Rs. 92.13 per liter, and petrol is priced at Rs. 104.19 per liter.

    How are the popular cryptocurrencies performing today?

    Bitcoin is selling at $70,637.25, down 0.02% from yesterday. Ethereum is down 1.87% and is selling at $3,514.38. Tether, BNB, and Cardano are listed at $0.9998 (0.01% up), $624.05 (4.43% up), and $0.5861 (0.62% down), respectively. Dogecoin is trading at $0.1983, down 0.43% from yesterday.
