APA Corporation has made changes to its executive leadership team in line with a company restructuring and the integration of the recently acquired Callon Petroleum.
“Building on the momentum of our recently closed acquisition, we are updating our leadership structure to better align with the evolving needs of our business”, said John J. Christmann, APA chief executive officer. “Today’s changes will help advance important priorities of the APA strategy and create opportunities for continued leadership development within our organization”.
Steve Riney, who assumed the roles of president and CFO in January 2024, will now lead asset development functions, overseeing asset teams, planning, and land, alongside financial responsibilities. This restructuring aims to enhance alignment among development teams and financial functions, APA Corporation said in a media release.
Dave Pursell, the executive vice president of development, has departed the company due to these organizational changes.
“I want to thank Dave for his years of service and dedication. During his tenure, he helped establish the development functions as we transitioned to a centralized model and advised the company as we navigated numerous challenges over the last several years. We wish him the best in his future endeavors,” said Christmann.
APA Corporation said that Ben Rodgers has been appointed as the senior vice president of finance and treasurer, reporting to Steve Riney. In this new capacity, he will lead market strategies, treasury, accounting, and tax. Rodgers, who joined APA in 2018, previously held the position of SVP Treasurer, Midstream & Marketing. Over his tenure, he also served as the CFO of Altus Midstream and later as a director on the board of Kinetik Holdings Inc. Currently, he sits on the board of Khalda Petroleum Company, a joint venture between APA subsidiary Apache Corporation and Egypt Petroleum Company.
Castlen Kennedy has been promoted to senior vice president of corporate affairs and marketing, reporting to Mark Maddox, the executive vice president of administration. In her expanded role, she will maintain oversight of corporate communications, government affairs, and community partnerships, while taking on responsibilities for oil and gas marketing, business excellence, and Egypt JV business support. Kennedy, who joined the company in 2006, has progressed through various roles in government and community affairs, investor relations, and communications, APA Corporation said.
