Irish chip and veggie burger maker Strong Roots bought for ‘substantial’ sum by frozen food giant McCain

Strong Roots, the Irish food group known for its frozen sweet-potato fries and kale and quinoa burgers, has been acquired by frozen chips giant McCain Food.

The fresh investment is understood to be substantial and follows McCain's previous investments as minority owner of more than €70m into the Irish business.
