    What's the story

In a recent interview on Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast, actor-dancer Nora Fatehi spoke about her experience in Bollywood, particularly the "bullying" she has survived from "superstars." She revealed that certain individuals often made her feel "weird inside" since their "energy and intention" was not good. The Madgaon Express actor suggested that these individuals were driven by a desire to see women in their circles succeed at her expense.

    Backbiting

'A lot of them don't like my directness'

Fatehi detailed the tactics employed by these individuals, stating that this had been a recurring experience. "They'll say things behind your back, and you'll get to know what they said, and they have that entitlement of being bullies. Nobody will call them out," she shared during the podcast. "So much of that happens, and they get so angry, and also, a lot of them don't like my directness."

    Criticism

'Some people prefer girls who are quiet'

The actor also revealed that her straightforward nature has been a point of contention for many in the industry and she isn't like "other girls who behave submissively in front of male stars." "Some people prefer girls who are quiet, submissive, someone who looks like they need the work. I don't give that power to anybody. And then they'll say things like, 'She's nothing, she's nobody, she's not talented, why is she here.'"

    Survival

Fatehi discussed avoiding predatory behavior in Bollywood

Fatehi also shared her experiences of avoiding predatory behavior in the industry. "Luckily, I've not had that situation, and I know why...I do think that it could have almost happened, but my personality is a little intimidating, so they kind of get like, 'Iske saath nahi, she could talk.'" "These people, whether they're stars or not, at the end of the day are predators."

Fatehi on her difficult and demanding journey

A few days ago, in an interview with Connect FM Canada, Fatehi spoke about her journey from Canada to Indian showbiz. "I don't have a man who's financing my life or paying for my dreams and my rent. I pay for everything myself." "We've witnessed shootings in front of us. If I didn't have thick skin, I would have not been able to make it through these last 9 to 10 years in India or even in the industry."

Her popularity surged further when she appeared on Salman Khan-hosted reality show Bigg Boss in 2015.
