NEP focussing on skills compatible with AI: Nadkarni

Registrar of Goa University Prof VS Nadkarni said the National Education Policy (NEP) is focussing on character building and skills that will be compatible with the Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Appealing to students to embrace learning beyond the text books, he said curricular and extracurricular activities are an integral part of a student, hence every student must make it a point to participate in various activities.

He said that today’s students, who are the future citizens, if they know their values, their obligations and duties, they will be able to build a stronger nation by 2055. That is why the National Education Policy is focussing on character building and skills that will be compatible with the Artificial Intelligence, he added.

The GU registrar was speaking as a chief guest at the annual prize distribution ceremony of Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre.

Principal Prof DB Arolkar said “It is a happy moment for the college to see the students winning prizes which shows that the students grabbed the opportunities available in the college.”

He also made a special mention of Rudra Bhosle for breaking 25 years old record of Goa University in hammer throw and also others, including Cayle Fernandes and Tinku Kumar for bringing laurels to the college.
