A dairy farmer who sped away from gardaí at up to 200 kmh and was pursued for 12km before he eventually stopped was spared a prison sentence at a recent sitting of Macroom District Court.
Prosecuting, Sgt Trish O’Sullivan told the court that Humphrey Allen, 46, of Bengour West, Newcestown, Bandon, Co. Cork was spotted by a garda patrol vehicle riding his motorcycle at excessive speed on the N22 road near Lissarda at about 10.30pm on June 26, 2023.
