Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 0.59%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.

Shares of Phoenix Mills Ltd.(up 4.13 per cent), Sobha Ltd.(up 2.73 per cent), Macrotech Developers Ltd.(up 2.26 per cent), Swan Energy Ltd.(up 0.19 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises Ltd.(up 0.18 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Godrej Properties Ltd.(down 1.79 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent), Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(down 0.5 per cent) and Oberoi Realty Ltd.(down 0.43 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 0.59 per cent up at 960.9.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 111.05 points at 22753.8, while the BSE Sensex stood up 354.45 points at 75038.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 ended in the green, while 19 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Vedanta, NMDC Steel and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ganges Securities, Emkay Global, Jubilant Ingrevia, DC Infotech and GKW Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Melstar Info, GIR Natureview, Websol Energy, Lakshmi Precis and BDR Buildcon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
