Introducing the newest adventure at MT. Triple Creek Ranch, an esteemed Relais & Châteaux guest ranch nestled in the picturesque Bitterroot Mountain Range of Montana’s Rockies: Saddle to Paddle.

Saddle to Paddle offers a unique blend of the Wild West experience, combining a guided horseback journey along the historic routes of the Lewis and Clark Expedition with an exhilarating rafting or kayaking excursion along the breathtaking Salmon River.

Embark on this full-day escapade just a short drive from Triple Creek Ranch, crossing into North Fork, Idaho. Accompanied by seasoned guides from Rawhide Outfitters, guests will enjoy a morning of scenic horseback riding through some of the region’s most captivating and historically rich landscapes. A deluxe picnic-style lunch awaits against the tranquil backdrop of the Salmon River. After lunch, adventurers transition to the water, rafting or kayaking under the guidance of experienced experts from Rawhide River Trips.

For an enriched experience, guests can opt to have a local historian, such as Judy Washbon, join either the horseback riding, river rafting, or both. Washbon’s engaging storytelling brings the history of the Lewis & Clark Expedition to life, sharing tales of their monumental journey and shedding light on the intriguing role of Sacajawea, the only female member of the expedition.

The Saddle to Scenic Raft or Saddle to Kayak experience accommodates a maximum of six participants per trip. Available Sunday through Friday, from June (depending on ice melt) to August 13th, for pricing and additional details, visit Triple Creek Ranch.

Situated in Darby, Montana, within the Bitterroot Range of the Rocky Mountains, Triple Creek Ranch has garnered acclaim, earning a place on the Travel + Leisure 2023 T+L 500 list of the world’s best hotels. Recognized as the Best Resort Hotel in Montana, the ranch offers an all-inclusive retreat for adults and children aged sixteen and above. As a member of Relais & Châteaux and Virtuoso, and endorsed by Orvis for fly-fishing, the ranch provides private log cabin accommodations, all meals, house wines, spirits, beers, and a range of outdoor activities such as horseback riding, fly fishing, cross-country skiing, hiking, and more.
