
ABC News and CNN, among many other outlets, sent film crews to Russellville on Monday to capture the magic of Elope at the Eclipse, a mass wedding ceremony with over 300 100* couples that took place right before yesterday’s total solar eclipse.
“The sun and the moon and the Earth have become one, and so have we,” one man reflects in a mid-totality interview with ABC News reporter Maggie Rulli as he stands next to his new wife, who he first met during the 2017 partial eclipse in Arkansas.

*An earlier version of this story stated that over 300 couples were married during Elope at the Eclipse. The actual count was 108 couples, according to event organizer Rodney Williams, who said that less than a third of the event’s registered pairs showed up.
