Eknath Khadse, one of the big leaders in maharashtra politics, was sidelined from the party for almost five years, after which sharad pawar included him in the undivided NCP. Last year, when the ncp was divided after deputy cm Ajit Pawar and eight other MLAs joined the Eknath Shinde government, Eknath Khadse chose to side with Sharad Pawar.

Girish Mahajan taunted

BJP leader Girish Mahajan on sunday (April 7) had called Eknath Khadse an extinguished lamp. He said, “He is like an extinguished lamp. Not even a single gram panchayat is in their hands. He used to control a bank, but the board of directors has also changed, and the new board members do not listen to him. His wife and daughter have lost elections earlier also.

Eknath Khadse, who was the leader of the opposition in the maharashtra assembly between 2009 and 2014, was considered a contender for the chief ministerial post if bjp came to power after the 2014 state assembly elections, but devendra fadnavis spoiled the game. Khadse's daughter-in-law Raksha Khadse is a bjp mp from Raver and is trying to reach the lok sabha for the third time in the upcoming elections. Whereas, his daughter rohini Khadse is with ncp (Sharadchandra Pawar).
