Back-to-back national championships are a special thing in men’s college basketball– it’s only been accomplished eight times in NCAA history.

But a three-peat?

That’s GOAT territory.

Only one program in men’s college hoops history has won three straight titles– that was John Wooden’s UCLA Bruins, who won seven consecutive from 1967-73.

UConn will have a chance to join the Bruins next season and despite potentially losing several players to the NBA (maybe even its entire starting five), they’ll begin the offseason as betting favorties.

The Huskies are the favorite to win the 2025 national title on ESPN BET and Caesars Sportsbook, starting out with +900 and 10-1 odds. FanDuel (11-1) and DraftKings (10-1) like Duke however, with UConn coming in second (14-1) on DraftKings.

Of course, there’s a long way to go before next season begins. There’s still an entire offseason of transfer portal activity, recruiting, NBA Draft decisions and the coaching carousel. It doesn’t mean much of anything that the Huskies are pitted as favorites to win the title in 2025 now, when not all of the confetti has been swept off the 2024 Final Four court yet.

But if there’s one thing we’ve learned about Dan Hurley’s Huskies: We wouldn’t bet against them.
