Bill Krause Earns Esteemed Crystal Colleague Award at Visit Salt Lake’s Annual Luncheon

At Visit Salt Lake’s recent Year in Review & Awards Luncheon on March 21, 2024, held at the Grand Building of the Utah State Fairpark and Event Center, Bill Krause, the director of visitor services and brand activations at VSL, was honored with the third annual Crystal Colleague Award.

The Crystal Colleague of the Year initiative celebrates outstanding performance among Visit Salt Lake staff members. This yearly recognition is bestowed upon a full-time team member who demonstrates exceptional job performance and notable contributions to the organization’s community. Criteria for the award encompass four key attributes: S.A.L.T. – Service, Achievement, Leadership, and Tenacity.

Colleagues commend Bill for his comprehensive involvement across departments and his adept management of significant tasks. He exhibits a profound dedication to his role, displaying remarkable leadership qualities and a readiness to take charge in any situation. Bill’s commitment is evident in his consistent early arrivals, late departures, and willingness to assist with both setup and cleanup tasks, without fail.

“My work at Visit Salt Lake is deeply satisfying. It is not just a job, it’s a close-knit family of proficient, considerate, and genuinely enjoyable colleagues who work on huge projects and then celebrate our big accomplishments together,” said Krause. “I’m proud to part of our success and equally proud to be a part of promoting our amazing destination!”

As part of his role, Bill is tasked with supervising the Visitor Services Team and managing the Visit Salt Lake Info Center. Additionally, he spearheads activations at events using VSL’s Airstream or Mobile Salt Cave, orchestrates community and industry events, and handles operations and logistics for Visit Salt Lake.

“Bill does everything around here from closing city streets and trucking in snow for a skijoring event downtown to managing our incredible team who welcome all visitors at our Visitor Information Center. We are so lucky to have Bill on our team,” said Krista Parry, Chief Development Officer. “He is truly deserving of this award.”
