Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.19% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:00AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 0.62 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.23 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.18 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(up 0.05 per cent) were among the top gainers.

MphasiS Ltd.(down 2.01 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 0.97 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 0.94 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.94 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.48 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.19 per cent at 35182.4 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 116.05 points at 22629.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 400.52 points at 74648.74.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, IRB Infra Dev., YES Bank, Bandhan Bank and Indian Renewable were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Arvee Laboratories, Ind Swift Ltd, Sundaram Finance, Abans Holdings and Archidply Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Penta Gold, Blue Coast Hotel, Regency Ceramic, Peria Karamalai Tea and SS Infrastructure hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
