Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Monday at 11:25AM

Sheetal Cool Products Ltd.(up 3.68%), Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd.(up 2.62%), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd.(up 2.48%), Adani Wilmar Ltd.(up 1.77%), Marico Ltd.(up 1.75%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 1.68%), Dangee Dums Ltd.(up 1.07%), LT Foods Ltd.(up 1.00%), Emami Ltd.(up 0.73%) and Mrs. Bectors Food Specialities Ltd.(up 0.71%) were among the top gainers.

Varun Beverages Ltd.(down 3.37%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.83%), Vadilal Industries Ltd.(down 1.43%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.08%), Patanjali Foods Ltd.(down 1.00%), Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd.(down 0.94%), Heritage Foods Ltd.(down 0.93%), Jyothy Labs Ltd.(down 0.65%), Colgate-Palmolive(India)Ltd.(down 0.64%) and Prataap Snacks Ltd.(down 0.63%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 113.65 points up at 22627.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 387.62 points at 74635.84 at around 11:25AM.

Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 4.01%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 3.29%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.92%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 1.64%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 1.59%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.57%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.54%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.44%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.31%) and Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.3%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 1.7%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 1.67%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.08%), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.77%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.7%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.53%), UPL Ltd.(down 0.45%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 0.4%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.37%) and State Bank of India(down 0.3%) were trading in the red.
