Glenn promotes Tommy Green to head football coach

Glenn High School in Forsyth County has a new head football coach for the first time since 2015. The school announced on Monday morning that it has promoted assistant coach Tommy Green to the top position in the program.
Green is replacing Antwon Stevenson, who was the head coach for nine seasons and spent his entire 23-year coaching career at Glenn. Stevenson took the head coaching job at Northeast Guilford, in the county to the east.
A class of 2007 graduate of Thomasville High School, Green was a member of three state championship teams. He went on to attend NC Wesleyan University and Winston-Salem State University.
During Stevenson's nine seasons in charge, Glenn posted a combined overall record of 58-44. The Bobcats had some breakout years with Stevenson, including a 10-2 campaign in 2017 and nine-win seasons in 2019 and 2021.
Glenn finished with a 3-7 overall record in 2023. The Bobcats play in the Central Piedmont 4A Conference with East Forsyth, West Forsyth, Reagan, Parkland, R.J. Reynolds, and Davie County.
