Small update for anyone interested. My CB300F has crossed 30,000 km since March 2023 when I took the delivery. I have been regularly using the bike, both for commutes and rides. I’ve completed 6 services so far, replaced both alloys and had an accident repair where I had to replace the entire fairings(This happened in November when I was on a solo ride to Ooty. Was riding near the Gudalur area when a car rear ended me. Riding gear saved me from anything serious and the bike was functionally alright so I ended up driving it back to Chennai the next day). The spare parts are still a concern. I got all the required spare parts and repairs done only by Jan 2024 first week. I intentionally didn't claim insurance for this even though I had video proof because claiming meant that I had to leave a functional bike in the showroom for 2 months. Instead, SC removed the fairings, changed the handlebars, clutch lever and bar end weights for this duration. I was even able to do a long ride to Kanyakumari in this condition.
Anyway leaving all that apart, so far service experience has been good from Bigwing Chennai North (considering they have ready stock of all the wear-and-tear parts like brake pads, clutch plates, sprocket kits, etc) leaving aside the lack of spare parts(This is more of a management issue).
In case anyone wants information on how long wearables lasted for me, so far:
Completely happy with the bike as of now and no major complaints both from the bike or the service experience.
I've been using a Zana ABS top box with the Zana top rack since this February end and have covered around 3000 km with it mounted so far. Used it on a ride to Hampi for the first time and have been using it in the city as well. I haven't felt any issues like wobbling, etc while using the topbox, even at good speeds I didn't really find much difference in the handling capability of the bike. One concern I have is that since the rear suspension is quite stiff(I also prefer it that way), the top rack could take a bigger beating over small bumps. But so far have had a good experience and would recommend as well to go for it as it's a godsend in the city as well to keep helmet, gloves, etc.
