Bayern Munich have been handed a boost as they head into their upcoming Champions League quarter-final clash with Arsenal.

The Bundesliga giants had been heading into the European tie with confidence at an all-time low after letting a two-goal lead slip in a shock 3-2 defeat to Heidenheim in their last match.

Having all but conceded the league title to leaders Bayer Leverkusen, who they now trail by 16 points, Bayern's hopes of silverware this season rest entirely on success in the Champions League.

But Thomas Tuchel's side may have new hope ahead of the crunch match, after it was revealed that five key players who were previously doubts for the game have now returned to team training.

Captain Manuel Neuer as well as mainstays Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman were all missing in the Heidenheim upset, as were Noussair Mazraoui and rising star Aleksandar Pavlovic.

However, all five stars had trained this morning ahead of the European encounter with only long-term absentees Sacha Boey and Bouna Sarr missing out.
