Chipotle restaurant on Ramsey Street closed after crash; driver charged with hit-and-run

Authorities in Fayetteville arrested a driver on Sunday they say crashed a car into a Chipotle restaurant on Saturday in Fayetteville.

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, officers responded to a hit-and-run around 7:36 p.m. on the 4000 block of Ramsey Street.

When they arrived, officers looked at security footage and saw a car driving in to the dining room of the restaurant before it drove away from the scene.

Several restaurant guest were treated for minor injuries.

The crash caused significant damage to the restaurant's front window, as captured by WRAL Breaking News Tracker.

The investigation, according to police, directed officers to the 1900 block of Bain Drive, where they found a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu. Officers learned the car was the car that crashed into the building.

Officers took the driver of the car, 27-year-old Brianna Black, into custody without incident and charges here with:

  • Careless & reckless driving
  • Misdemeanor hit-and-run (four counts)
  • Failure to reduce speed.

Black received a $2,500 secured bond.

A voicemail message at the restaurant said they will be closed through Sunday.
