For a team so cautious in the opening half, fortune favoured brave Cavan when goal opportunities opened up after the break in this opening Ulster Championship game.
Just 8,324 were in Clones to witness it unfold, more than half what was routinely at this fixture even less than a decade ago when the scheduling was different and so too the sense of occasion.
