CANAAN- A 32-year-old Massachusetts man was seriously hurt Friday night after crossing a local roadway in his car and colliding with a utility pole.
Michael Hogan, of Southfield, was eastbound along Lower Road in North Canaan just before midnight hen his 2020 Hyundai Elantra crossed over the center line into the westbound landing collided with a utility pole, state police said.
The impact severed the utility pole. The car then returned to the roadway and overturned. Hogan was extricated by firefighters and EMS and taken to Sharon Hospital with serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
