Police: 78-year-old man arrested, charged with murdering his son

WXII in Greensboro reported a 78-year-old father was arrested after shooting his son.

According to the Greensboro Police Department, officers said they were called to the 3800 block of Belhaven Drive around 11:23 p.m. Saturday after reports of an assault.

Police said the 911 caller advised that the "father had shot his son."

78-year-old Larry Wendell Hilliard surrendered to officers and was taken into custody, according to police.

Authorities charged Hilliard with the murder of his son, 56-year-old Larry Todd Hilliard.
