MIDDLEBURY – David Robert Zackin, age 84, of Middlebury, passed away at home on April 5, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Green) for 58 years and father to Paul and Jennifer.
He was born in Waterbury on Jan. 3, 1940, to the late Isadore and Paulene Zackin. He graduated from Crosby High School in 1957 and later attended Southern Connecticut State Teachers College, and business school in Hartford.
He went on to found Zackin Publications, a successful business to business publishing company. He also served in the Connecticut Air National Guard.
On June 4, 1966, he married the love of his life, Linda, in Forest Hills, N.Y. David loved traveling in his motor home, spending time outdoors and was a competitive racquetball player and hard-core skier throughout his adult life. In his later years, he was lovingly cared for by Maria Singh and her daughter Nicola.
He is survived by his wife Linda, their children Paul and wife Emiko, and Jennifer and husband Adolfo. He was the beloved grandfather to Paul and Emiko’s sons, Matthew, Alec and Samuel. He is survived by his brothers Nelson, Arnold and wife Ruth, and Gerald and wife Carolyn; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for David will be on Monday, April 8, at Munson Lovetere Funeral Home in Southbury, 235 Main St. North. Visiting hours will begin at 10 a.m., with a service at 11 a.m., followed by the burial at Farband Cemetery in Morris.
