WATERBURY – Concetta Mauriello, age 91, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Cheshire House in Waterbury, on Friday morning, April 5, 2024, after a brief illness. She was the widow of Angelo Mauriello.
Concetta was born May 22, 1932, in Naples, Italy, and immigrated to the U.S. in 1969. She was a loving and dedicated mother who raised her family while owning and operating the Concetta Market, on Walnut Street, for many years before her retirement.
Concetta loved to cook and was a talented baker. She was also a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Waterbury.
Left to honor her memory and cherish her legacy are her children, Luisa Barile of Prospect, Antoinette Gramaglia and her husband Antonio, of Margate, Fla., and Alfredo Mauriello and his wife Robin, of Oxford. Nonna will be missed but cherished by her 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her eight siblings and her son-in-law, Ciro Barile.
The Mauriello family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff at the Cheshire House for the care and love they shared with their mom and all of them during her stay there. They are true caring professionals.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mauriello will be on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 E. Main St., Waterbury, CT 06705, to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 785 Highland Ave., Waterbury, CT 06708, to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of her family. Relatives and friends are invited to visit the Mauriello family at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until leaving for church services at 9:30 a.m.
