Stage set, mic hot: Dreamville Festival anticipates SZA, 50 Cent and a night to remember
SZA and 50 Cent will close out the first day of Dreamville Festival at Dix Park.
The annual event was created by rapper and Fayetteville native J. Cole, who will headline Sunday night.
50 Cent was a last minute addition, as Chris Brown was originally set to perform but had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances.
In addition to the headliners, other performers on Saturday include J.I.D., Lil Yachty, Schoolboy Q, Sexyy Red, Jeremih, Earthgang, Teezo Touchdown, Amaarae, Lute, Luh Tyler and Domani.
There are two stages of entertainment with sets staggered so acts aren't playing at the same time. See the set times.
Crowds were growing throughout the afternoon in anticipation of the night's headliners.
The festival will be livestreamed starting at 4 p.m. daily for free via Amazon's music channels on Twitch, Prime Video and the Amazon Music app.
Fans also didn't have to miss any NCAA basketball, as the festival streamed the Final Four men's basketball games live outside by the Ferris wheel.
What's new this year at Dreamville Festival?
Fans this weekend will notice some some improvements at both stages, including better sound and lighting. Stage two has been reoriented so fans at various locations can have better visibility.
Dreamville Festival will once again feature local artists with seven murals on site created by North Carolina artists.
With record crowds expected over the weekend, festival organizers have worked with the city to expand the downtown shuttle program to increase the number of vehicles available to transport festival goers to the park. Gates open at noon each day.
Who plays Dreamville on Sunday?
