Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed in the Friday's session.

Future Consumer Ltd.(up 5.27%), Umang Dairies Ltd.(up 3.70%), Marico Ltd.(up 3.67%), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd.(up 2.77%), Jyothy Labs Ltd.(up 1.99%), Hindustan Foods Ltd.(up 1.72%), Dangee Dums Ltd.(up 1.64%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd.(up 1.23%), Prataap Snacks Ltd.(up 1.01%) and Colgate-Palmolive(India)Ltd.(up 0.83%) stood among the top gainers.

Vadilal Industries Ltd.(down 2.97%), Hatsun Agro Products Ltd.(down 2.65%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd.(down 2.58%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.80%), Honasa Consumer Ltd.(down 1.74%), ADF Foods Ltd.(down 1.69%), Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd.(down 1.39%), Varun Beverages Ltd.(down 1.38%), Zydus Wellness Ltd.(down 1.29%) and Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd.(down 1.06%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 0.96 points down at 22513.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 20.59 points at 74248.22.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 2.06%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.48%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 1.44%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 1.34%), ITC Ltd.(up 1.14%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.13%), State Bank of India(up 0.72%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 0.64%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.6%) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.53%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, UltraTech Cement Ltd.(down 1.82%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 1.77%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.5%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 1.48%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 1.45%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 1.35%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 1.34%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 1.32%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.24%) and Asian Paints Ltd.(down 1.2%) closed in the red.
