Two men killed in double homicide in Franklin County, man charged with first-degree murder

Police in Franklinton are investigating a double homicide that turned into a barricade situation Friday morning.

At 2 a.m., Franklinton police and Franklin County deputies responded to a double homicide on Pine Street. Two men were killed.

After an hours-long standoff, Christian Webster, 30, was taken into custody. Webster has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Broadcastify radio traffic confirmed this call came in as a shooting. Then it appeared to quickly turn into a barricade situation with an armed suspect inside a home on Pine Street.

This has been going on since 8 a.m. This scene has been active for four hours now.

WRAL's Chelsea Donovan is on scene where a funeral home can be seen taking out two bodies on two stretchers.

Webster is being held at the Franklin County Jail.
