The creators of the Thalapathy Vijay film Ghilli have announced that it would be re-released globally on April 20, 2024. The official version of Mahesh Babu's okkadu was the historic smash film Ghilli, featuring Thalapathy Vijay and trisha krishnan in the key roles. Despite being a remake, Vijay's career's cult favourite was elevated by the film's handling, Vidyasagar's enriching musical selections, and the actors' captivating performances.
 
In addition to popularising Vijay and Trisha's chemistry, the film is mostly remembered for Prakash Raj's distinctively evil portrayal. The romantic sports action film, directed by Dharani, centres on Velu, a state-level Kabaddi player. He becomes involved with Muthupandi, a well-known local mobster who is keen to wed Dhanalakshmi against her consent, while in Madurai. In spite of the fact that he must ultimately send her away to a safe location, the movie shows how Velu manages to save her and finally grows fond of her.
