Gayle King Pops in Purple Suede Pumps at MoMA’s 2024 Black Arts Council Benefit

Gayle King channeled her love of color in suede pointed-toe purple pumps at the Museum of Modern Arts’ 2024 Black Arts Council Benefit. The fundraising event took place at the famed Manhattan art museum on April 4.
King is a fan of colorful and metallic pointed-toe pumps and color-coordinated looks. At the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, she paired her purple gown with holographic silver pointed-toe heels. For the F1 Academy Series race track in Austin in October 2023, she walked the track in silver glittery Miu Miu platform sneakers. During an August 2023 taping of “Good Morning America,” she channeled Barbiecore in pair of SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker “Reflection” pointy-toe pumps with a color-blocked metallic toe.
The MoMa benefit raised money for the art museum’s Black Arts Council, which was founded in 1993 to increase “visibility, access, and appreciation for art and artists of the African diaspora” at the esteemed institution. The event honored civil rights lawyer Sherrilyn Ifill and artist Glenn Ligon and featured a performance from Cautious Clay and The Community.
