Will HDD and SSD prices be affected as well?

Condolences for all those affected by the quake.

look due to hdd/ssd being used for some form of minning they had over manufactured and there hence there was a lull and ssd prices had lowered. hence there was gradual cutback to bring the price up but now this will result in shortage bring up all the pricing up by may be 15 to 20 % and than retailers etc fill further mess it up + the scalpers.

Lots of websites reported yesterday before the earthquake that SSD prices are bound to spike soon, the NAND cartel is colluding to jack the prices up it seems.

Need to hoard up then.
In my limited experience, there's never a bad time to be a data hoarder.

Biggest ssd chips & hdd mfg facilities are not in Taiwan, most affected will be processors & motherboards & graphics card as asus/gigabyte/msi/asrock are all Taiwan based.
So the 2021 gpu scalping era is gonna begin soon..
Peeps grab all 40xx series now at whatever rates..

I don't think situation is ever going to be that bad again unless some very big change happen in cryptocurrency sector, maybe a 4-5% increase in prices due to delay in stock shipment.
