Aspen Hospitality Group (AHG) has acquired Casa D’Angelo in Aspen at 105 Mill Street. According to a press release, the restaurant will re-open under a new name for the summer season. Many of the menu items developed by Chef Angelo Elia will continue to be served, and some staff will stay on through the transition.
Through a prepared statement, Elia said he did not take the decision to sell lightly.
“This was a very difficult decision, but it was the right decision for my family, for Casa D’Angelo, and the new owners,” he said. “I love Aspen, and the restaurant was very successful, but I want to enjoy it as a member of the community. I put my heart and soul into all my restaurants. Knowing that Aspen Hospitality Group will continue to do the same made the decision easier.”
The acquisition marks AHG’s third restaurant in a two-block radius in Aspen’s core. The group acquired Deumani at 216 S. Monarch St. and Acquolina at 415 E. Main St. in a two-restaurant deal in 2021.
