    Bengaluru, often called India's "Silicon Valley," has been declared the most budget-friendly travel destination in the country by Agoda, a leading travel booking platform. The city, known for its unique mix of traditional charm and modern appeal, offers an average room rate of ₹4,584. This marks a significant shift from last year when Puri was named the most economical destination.

    Agoda's list features budget-friendly destinations across Asia

    Agoda's list of cost-effective travel destinations is not limited to India but extends across eight Asian markets. The compilation includes budget-friendly locations such as Udon Thani in Thailand, Surabaya in Indonesia, Hue in Vietnam, Kuching in Malaysia, Iloilo in the Philippines, Kaohsiung in Taiwan, and Narita in Japan. The aim is to strike a balance between financial sensibility and travel enjoyment for tourists.

    Bengaluru among preferred summer destinations for Indians

    A study by UK-based platform Wowtickets.com revealed that Bengaluru is one of the preferred national travel destinations for Indians this summer. Other popular choices include Goa, Delhi, Srinagar, Pune, Patna, Kolkata, Leh, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Varanasi, Guwahati and Bagdogra. This preference reflects the city's unique blend of traditional allure and contemporary appeal.

    Bengaluru ranked 125th in Swachh Surekshan 2023

    Apart from its affordability, the city stands out for its cleanliness. Bengaluru clinched the 125th position among 446 cities with populations exceeding one lakh in the Swachh Survekshan 2023, an annual cleanliness survey conducted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MOHUA). This ranking reflects the city's efforts in maintaining cleanliness amidst urban challenges, showcasing a commitment to sanitation and hygiene initiatives.

The global tourism market is predicted to reach $16.9 trillion by 2030, with significant growth anticipated in the Asia-Pacific region.
