Church news

Mass Time Change - From Monday 1st April to Friday 5th April, Mass will be at 11am daily. Normal Mass times resume on Saturday 6th April with the Vigil Mass at 6pm.

Taizé Service - This will take place on Sunday 14th April in the Day Chapel at 6pm.

Trócaire Boxes - These can be placed in the basket on the altar or handed into the Parish Office. The basket will be taken away after Mass. Please do not leave your Trócaire box anywhere else in the Church.

Tap To Donate – A new Tap to Donate system is now installed at the back of the Main Church in Clonard. As very many people don’t carry cash any more, our Tap to Donate station is available to make contactless donations towards the upkeep and running of the parish. It’s easy to use. Just select, by tapping the amount you would like to donate and tap your card as indicated. Your continued financial support is much needed and is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Fr Barry Adm.

Rosary - Every Wednesday at 3.00pm in Clonard Church Day Chapel. Join us for 15 minutes of prayer for family and friends. All Welcome. A Legion of Mary Project.

Condolences

We extend our condolences to Marion Berney and family, St. Patrick’s Terrace on the death of her sister, Mary (May) Kehoe, Thornbrook, The Ballagh (nee Kinsella) Sinnottsmill, Castlebridge, who died on Saturday, March 23rd. Pre-deceased by her husband Sean Kehoe (ex Slaney Lodge, Crossabeg) and their son Paul, she is survived by her sons John and Andrew, daughter-in-law Nicola, brothers and sisters. Her Funeral Mass took place in The Ballagh church on Tuesday, March 26th at 11 a.m followed by burial in Shanaganagh cemetery, Dublin.

Our deepest sympathy also to Colette O’Brien and family, Kyle Lower, Crossabeg, on the death of her brother, Eamon Byrne, Garryvarren, Blackwater and London, who died at Gorey District hospital on March 24th. His Funeral Mass took place in St. Brigid’s Church, Blackwater at 11a.m on Wednesday followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

May they rest in peace.

Clothes collection

Crossabeg Parents Association will hold their next clothes collection on Saturday, April 13th. This is a great way to do a spring clean and a great little fundraiser for the local school. The committee will accept clothes,shoes, belts, bags, towels, blankets,curtains and soft toys.

Memorial Road Run

The Over the Water Vintage Club will hold their first Martin Kearon Memorial Road Run on Sunday, April 14th, starting from Screen village. Registration takes place at 11 a.m and the event gets underway at 1 p.m.

This year the event is in aid of the Hope Cancer Support Centre for all of County Wexford, a very worthy cause. On their behalf, the Committee welcome your help and support on the day.

Couch to 5K

St Killian’s Athletic Club’s new ‘Couch to 5K’ programme takes place every Wednesday evening at the local community field in Garrywilliam. Coaches for the event are Mick Kehoe and Sinead Moloney. Micks wealth of experience and the youthful approach of Sinead will make a perfect coaching combination.

So get those running/walking shoes on and head down to the community field and join in the fun which begins at 7 p.m. The fee is €55 which includes AI membership, coaching and guidance and entry to the Goal race Darkness into Light’ Wexford on May 11th.

Barntown Squash Club

Qi Gong

Reminder: There will be no class on Friday 5th April. Normal classes resume on Friday 12th April and every Friday thereafter. Venue: Barntown Community Centre (multipurpose room). €10 per class. Please contact Mary on 086 214 7854. Classes are open to all.

No special equipment is required as class is performed standing. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes and bring anything you need to be comfortable (water, clothing layers etc).

Rounders

Are you interested in joining Rounders this year? Why not come along to one of our training sessions to try it out? Everyone is welcome. We have an adult ladies team, a mens team and a mixed team.

Club Tour: 2025 Club Tour to Lisbon takes place from Thursday 13th March to Monday 17th March 2025–4 nights. Deposit of €200 due this Sunday 31st March in order to secure accommodation. Deposit can be paid to Jim McGovern or Tony Butler

Cuidiú breastfeeding

‘In-Person’ breastfeeding/chestfeeding group meets at Barntown Community Centre Y35 XO32 from 10am to 11.30am. Our next sessions take place on April 10th and April 24th.

Our breastfeeding training is funded and recognised by the HSE, it is a free service run by volunteers. You can join at any stage of your journey–expecting parents who are hoping to breastfeed/chestfeed are especially welcome.
