Sunlight Air debuts from Clark to Busuanga, marking a new chapter with festive launch, VIP guests, and expanded routes, showcasing travel evolution.
A significant milestone in the aviation sector as Sunlight Air embarks on its maiden voyage from Clark International Airport (CRK), a move that was officially disclosed earlier this year. The first flight, numbered 2R601, charted its course to Busuanga, setting off from CRK at precisely 2:10 PM.
This strategic relocation from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to Clark International Airport by Sunlight Air was part of the airline’s commitment to enhancing its service efficiency and punctuality, addressing the passengers’ needs more effectively.
“In line with our commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and top-tier flights to underserved local destinations, we are happy to have launched our first flight from Clark with the support of the Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corp. (LIPAD) and are confident that this move will allow us to better deliver our trademark quality of service to many more Filipinos,” shared Sunlight Air CEO, Ryna Brito-Garcia.
This milestone marks the start of an exciting chapter for the airline, as this move brings about a number of fresh new routes, including flights to Siargao, San Vicente, Coron, and Caticlan. Noel Manankil, Chief Executive Officer and President of LIPAD also expressed excitement about this development, “We are thrilled to welcome Sunlight Air to Clark International Airport, further solidifying CRK’s position as a key aviation hub in the region. As we embark on this partnership, we are dedicated to providing Sunlight Air passengers with an unparalleled travel experience marked by efficiency, convenience, and a focus on customer satisfaction.”
The excitement was palpable among the passengers of the inaugural flight as they were greeted with traditional festive leis. The event was further elevated by a dazzling water cannon salute and captivating performances by local artists. Noteworthy figures such as Dr. Richard Daenos, the Regional Director of the Department of Tourism for Region 3, Atty. Agnes Devanadera, President and CEO of Clark Development Corporation (CDC), and Engr. Joshua Bingcang, President and CEO of the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA), graced the launch with their presence, underscoring the significance of this new chapter for Sunlight Air.
Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, Sunlight Air is also inaugurating new routes from Mactan-Cebu International Airport this week. The airline will commence its operations with the inaugural flight from Cebu to Coron, Siargao, and Manila on April 3, with flight number 2R857. This introduction of daily flights marks the beginning of convenient travel options for Cebuanos and tourists alike, aiming to connect them with the country’s prime destinations. Plans to extend services to Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, and Caticlan are already underway, promising an expanded network of destinations.
The launch event at Mactan-Cebu International Airport is set to be attended by distinguished guests including Julius G. Neri, the CEO and General Manager of Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority, and Athanasios Titonis, the CEO of Aboitiz GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation. Their participation highlights the collaborative efforts in the aviation community to enhance connectivity and accessibility across the Philippines, offering passengers more travel options and contributing to the tourism and local economies.
